Partners
Administrators can invite organizations to join the platform by entering key details such as the organization’s name and primary contact information. They can also designate the contact as an Organization Administrator, granting them permissions to manage their activities and interactions within the system.
Once a partner has been invited, their status can be monitored within the platform. Administrators can track pending invitations, resend requests, and confirm when an organization has successfully joined.
Maintaining Active Partnerships
Approved partners are listed within the system, making it easy to access their details, collaborate on work-based learning initiatives, and coordinate student engagement. Partners can be updated or removed as needed to ensure an active and relevant network of industry connections.
This section helps streamline the process of establishing and managing partnerships, ensuring that students have access to valuable career experiences and industry engagement.
Inviting Partners
- Click on the Partners icon (
) in the navigation menu - Click the Invite Partner (
) button. - In the subsequent dialog, click the Find Organization search box and start typing the new Organization’s name.
- Select an Organization from the results. If the Organization is not currently on PortfoliOH the address will be displayed; be sure this matches your expected Organization.
- Use the Name and Email text boxes to invite a contact person for the Organization. To automatically approve this contact person as an Administrator check the Make this person an Organization Administrator checkbox.
(Hint: this step is option for existing Organizations). - Click the Save button.
- You should now see a new row for the Partnership appear. The Status column should include a yellow Invited chip. After your invitation is accepted, this will update to a green Accepted chip.
If you are the first Administrator to make a Partnership with an Organization on the platform, follow the steps in First Partnership with a Business.
Confirming Partners
- Click on the Partners icon (
) in the navigation menu. - Requested partnerships are listed in the table view. Pending invites include a yellow Invited chip in the Status column.
- Click on the Invited chip.
- In the subsequent dialog, click the Confirm button.
- The partnership should now be displayed with a green Accepted chip.
Rejecting Partners
- Click on the Partners icon (
) in the navigation menu. - In the Action column associated with the partner you want to reject, click the More Options icon (
). - Select Delete (
). - In the subsequent dialog, click the Yes, Remove button.
First Partnership with a Business
If you are the first organization to partner with a business on the PortfoliOH platform, you have the option to add or change the business information and create the first Opportunity for the business. You can do this by following these steps:

Locate the business you invited as partner in the list of partnerships.

Click the gear icon next to the business type.
(This will take you to the business’s About page.) -
Add or update the About information such as logo, description, address, industry and address.

Once completed, click Save.

To create a seal, Click the Create First Opportunity button and follow the prompts.
